[pdftex] Reducing PDF File Size

Greetings:

Is there a package available that would allow me to either replace each 
image in a pdf file
with a bounding box or better yet to reduce the image resolutions.  I 
have looked at doc pdfpages
and pdfimages but it doesn't appear that either would do the job.  Any 
suggestion will be
greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

The PDF file is a Apple Power Point with images.
