[pdftex] support for svg

but ... it's not that useful: the svg is actually an alternative presentation of the page, so you cannot combine it with pdf; there are some weird fetaures in pdf (like the alternative slideshow mechanisms) which use pdf as a container format only. 

(for some obscure reason acrobat does not support svg like it does support for instance shockwave or smil; it would be nice if svg could be rendered as part of the page)
