[pdftex] pdfoutput cmdline switch

Is it possible to implement a commandline switch to control the value
of \pdfoutput in a similar way as --interaction?

It is more convenient to say pdftex --pdfoutput=0 myfile rather than
typing pdftex '\pdfoutput=0\input myfile '.

There is a good reason to use pdftex to produce dvi.  With Knuth's TeX
you get different line/page breaks, in particular hyperlinks cannot be
split.

In addition, an environment variable wouldn't be bad.
