[pdftex] Issues with texinfo / makeinfo --html

Hello all,

A few questions on texinfo with makeinfo --html.
Also posted these to comp.text.tex.

(1) texinfo @samp{samplText}, when converted to HTML using makeinfo --html, 
should produce 'sampleText' in quotes, fixed-width font.  But in the 
HTML output, the sampleText is not in quotes.  It works fine however with 
pdftex output.  Does anybody know why this doesn't work with HTML?

(2) Something else I just noticed - @display{} is not supposed to change
the font, but in with makeinfo --html it gets changed to fixed-width font. 
What gives ?!?

I'm using teTeX distribution on Solaris 2.8...
