[pdftex] lucida bright missing ff in pdflatex

Hi
I am trying to change the default font for my tex
environment.
I am using:
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{lucida}
pdftex --version is below
latex --version is below
Characters ff are not printing or displaying in PDF
format 1.4
Words like Offences and differences are not
printing/displaying the ff.
Any advice would be appreciated, including suggesting
other fonts.
