Subject: [gs-devel] PDF-A

I've recently met someone from the Library of Congress that mentioned
that a standard is being created for archivvable digital documents.

The standard is supposed to be a subset of PDF 1.4 with several
constraints so it can be completly self-contained (like, all fonts have
to be embedded, no running of external programs, no video and several
others).

Is anyone following this? You can check the site at
http://www.aiim.org/pdf_a/ and I have a (paper) copy of the last draft
(I can't find it on the site).

Is someone in this list is interested, I can put you in contact with the
guy that is working on this from the Library of Congress.

PS: I'm not a subscriber, so send replies to me and/or the list.
