[pdftex] What means this error: uninitialized pdf_font_link?

Hi all,

what causes the following error message:

! pdfTeX error (expand): uninitialized pdf_font_link.

I can not determine nor the reason neither the place of this error (I
get this message by page 187, after modifying something on page 233 I
get the same message by page 121). I am using Postscript fonts with
virtual mapping under PlainTeX.
