[pdftex] PDFTEX C/C++ API

Hi Everybody!

We would like to integrate pdftex more tightly with our multithreaded C++
application. Before we start working on this, I just wanted to find out your
opinion on how feasible it would be to 1) create a C++ API wrapper around
pdftex/tex engine, and 2) make sure that the code is MT safe. Do you know
anybody else who was/is trying to achieve the same goal?
