this may explain the vanishing of hints: I heard that typical PS
interpreters just treat type 1 outlines as if they were vector art
(thus ignore such things as "erode", hints, etc.) above some given
resolution (something around 1200 dpi). It would be interesting to
compare the fonts in a PDF done at 72 dpi.
