[pdftex] epstopdf

I get no such behavior.  The following eps file:

%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%%BoundingBox: 0 0 10 10
.8 setgray 0 0 10 10 rectfill
showpage
%%EOF

converts correctly to pdf via epstopdf.  Are you sure the EPS files
don't have an 11 on them already?
