[pdftex] Gnuplot LaTeX output with pdfLaTeX?

Thanks -- I don't remember what I used previously (ps2pdf, perhaps?)
but I tried epstopedf now -- and it almost worked. The bounding box is
now much better but for some of the figures things still aren't quite
right. The graphics seem to be shifted a little, and parts (one of the
outer edges, that is, about one point's worth) have been clipped. I
suppose this may be due to a faulty BoundingBox from Gnuplot, but that
still doesn't quite explain how dvips is able to handle it
flawlessly...
