[pdftex] preflight check?

I've got some self-published books that were done with PageMaker, and am
now converting them to pdftex. I've converted one of them, which is one that
I need to print a new edition of. The PDF output looks good on the screen
and good (with one exception, see below) on output
from my own laser printer, and I'm now ready to give it to the
guy who does my printing and binding for me. Can anyone suggest things to
watch out for? These folks are used to dealing with PDF, but have never
heard of LaTeX. I warned them to use Acrobat Reader 5.0 or later (earlier
versions are incompatible with pdftex due to a bug that garbles text inside
embedded PDF files). One thing that I have noticed is that on the output
from my own el-cheapo Brother printer, sometimes tall math symbols,
like \int, \left[, and \right], get broken off on the bottom.
They're working direct to digital on this, so although they're
careful workers, it's not like handing off camera-ready copy to them that
I can go over myself first.

The source code and PDF output of the book I'm talking about are here:

Thanks in advance for any advice!
