[pdftex] (newbie) problem with sections

Hi,

i must say i don't know much about Tex and Latex but i am trying to learn it
if this mailing list is not the right place to ask my question, please let 
me know where to go.

i use a mac os X Latex distributed version downloaded via fink : 
fink.sourceforge.net

here is the pb :

i use the article style.
i have some thing like that :


/part(part 1)
/section(section 1)
/section(section 2)

/part(part 2)
/section(section 1)
/section(section 2)

(do not worry about the "/" and "(", i just don't know how to do backslash 
and brackets on a pc :-)

after a "pdflatex rapport.tex" the pb is that in part 2, the section are 
numbered 3 and 4 instead of 1 and 2

any idea ??
