[pdftex] inclusion of ALL standard fonts

With MikTeX 2.2 Run mkfntmap.exe
It uses updmap.exe which utilizes a config file updmap.cfg
which uses ***.map (for example pmn.map for Minion) files
which have the mapping information for each font family. This
creates all of the map files which LaTeX uses.

Turns out that miktex has a program "based on udpmap from tetex" (since
miktex
2.2). I am trying to learn more about it (for starters there is no match to
a
search on that term on the miktex website...).

I'll report back if I figure this out.
