[pdftex] JBIG2

Hi,

Does anyone know about JBIG2 compression in PDF, and the possibility of
using it in pdftex?

Is there any plan to have in PDF something similar to DjVu (with a
[transparent-- is it possible?] JBIG2 foreground for text and highly
compressed background?
