Jesus! Sounds as if you're struggling around with a kind of monster 
system that one better doesn't ever change...

However, I see that Sebastian succeeded in updating his small link list 
at www.pdftex.org only two and a half weeks ago.

I think this would be the right place to execute the 50 keystrokes in 
order to add a few links to the latest binary and pool files because 
many people won't like to download 15MB of TeXLive sources (which are 
listed there at first position) to get them.
