someone has constructed a bad pdftex.map for you. where did you
get it from? it's quite a detailed problem to explain, unfortunately.
you can simply remove those lines from the pdftex.map file.
or ignore them, they are only warnings.

no, this isnt really a newbie question. its actually a rather
obscure part of pdftex lore, understanding that pdftex map file....
