[pdftex] Sorry... Font problems under pdflatex

Hi I'm a newbye in usinf pdflatex.

I am using the MikTeX distribution under Win NT.

When I generate a .pdf from .tex file I obtain a document with a very
poor quality on the screen.
The printed version in OK but the resolution on the screen is very low.

What's wrong?
I tried to change some parameters but nothing happened.
