[pdftex] page size with pdfjadetex

No problem with ordinary pdftex, but when I process a document using
pdfjadetex acroread is showing a page size of 8.47 x 10.96 inches.
The SGML stylesheet calls for US letter paper, and defines that as 8.5
x 11.0.  I've tried messing with \pdfpagewidth and \pdfpageheight in
my jadetex.cfg (setting these to 8.5 and 11, trying both "in" and
"truein" as units) but nothing has made any difference so far.

Any suggestions?  Thanks.
