Thanks for encouraging me to try the non-Adobe ones again.

I use the pdfscreen package* and had 'given up' on non-Adobe renderings, but
the xpdf does display the pages:

For the record:

gv 3.5.8
only displays the top quarter or so of each page
	internal links do not work

GhostView GGv 1.0
as gv, but only displays top eighth (no internal links to try)

KGhostView 0.11
	as gv

xpdf 0.92
	full pages displayed
no FullScreen (at least on open)
the colours are different to Acrobat Reader
	page backgrounds do not show
	internal links work
out links to WWW not active

This is no criticism, I have not searched the documentation to see what the
respective authors (or creators of re-editions!) intended. "Screen"
presentation is very different from "Page" presentation, so it is a harsh
test as well!.

Also our editions may be archaic.

(As we have to advise several hundred readers on what to read 'the result'
with (well the minority who do not "double click" ;-)> !) I am keen to know
what the alternatives are. MC)
