[pdftex] User Manual for pdfTeX

There is a problem with the
letter-size version of the 
User Manual for pdfTeX 
available from the web site
http://www.tug.org/applications/pdftex/.
I get error messages when I try to use
xpdf or acroread to read beyond the first page.
Xpdf says it's error 109.
