[pdftex] pdftex compliance..

I worked on the patch to pdftex (which Thanh has accepted).  While working
on it, Tom Kiffe (the author of CMacTeX) contacted me about it. So I know
the patches are in his hands.  I would contact him (or visit his web site)
to see if the patched version is available.
