Maybe they're defined as PS specific code and only show up when printing
to a PS device. (See datasource PS pdfmark documentation.)

I think it's a matter of mediabox/cropbox hackery, which is not the same
as boundingboxes in PS. It's one of the more fuzzy features of pdf, and
a rather poor model.
