I'm puzzled: I find that pdftex (latest version, as with earlier
versions)
does NOT respect "true" dimensions in pdftex.cfg. I've got horigin and
vorigin set to 1 truein in my pdftex.cfg, but when I set \mag = 1200 in
my
tex file the horigin and vorigin become 1.2 inches. The page width and
height behave the same way.
