I suggest that you convert your glyphs with a tool like mf2pt1 to a
Type 1 font.  Using the scripting interface of FontForge, you can then

  (1) clean up the glyph shapes (e.g. removing redundant points,
      adding points at extrema, etc.)
  (2) easily add the necessary SFNT tables (including the OpenType
      stuff necessary for Indic scripts)

People here on the metapost list are probably not able to further help
you.  As an example of the MF->mf2pt1->fontforge->OTF working flow,
have a look how LilyPond handles this.
