Hi all,

Finally, I can release the first attempt at getting to metapost 2.0.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
MetaPost 1.750
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The standalone distribution package and a win32 binary can be downloaded
immediately from the 'experimental' files section at

   http://foundry.supelec.fr/gf/project/metapost/

*** This is an pre-alpha release for testing / experimenting only! ***

It is able to process the images from mpman.mp (the metapost manual)
but that is about the extent of the testing done so far, so expect
lots and lots of bugs!.

The win32 binary is intended for texlive or a similar web2c-based
installation, this executable will *not* work for miktex.

Of course, we welcome any comments (either good or bad) that you may
have. Simply replying to this message is fine, but see the bottom of
the message for a more formal way to report bugs and feature requests.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is new in MetaPost version 1.750:
----------------------------------------------------------------------

* The mpost executable now accepts --math=double as an argument. This
switches the internal arithmetic functions from using a scaled 32-bit
data type to 64-bit floating point.

* With --math=double, the input scanner has been changed to allow
     a := 1.0E20
as input format for a (any) numerical value
