You know what?  I actually think that sentence does a disservice to
the user.  I read the MP manual over and over again through the years,
and I always remember that sentence.  And I always felt that I wasn't
quite "getting it", never really understood.  In fact, I felt as if I
were a long way away from getting it.

Then one day I read the MFbook.  What a revelation!

I guess you could argue that I should have heeded the "both are
beneficial".  But I for one think that's not strong enough.
