[metapost] 3D PDF - any plans

Dear Taco,

are there any plans to use 3D PDF support introduced in
latest versions of Adobe products as a quick-and-dirty workaround
for the lack of 3D in MetaPost/MPLib?
For example, asymptote people decided not only to use it, but seem to
prefere it to developing their old 3D-to-2D code

And if there are no such plans - why, lack of resouces or dislike of being
vendor-locked with proprietary data formats.
