Right, but I realize that metaobj could be a little bit improved
in that respect, without any change to its interface.
I wouldn't break the existing mechanism of storing paths as control
points, but a new command would also store paths as mere paths.
Since a drawn path is a picture, and since I already store pictures,
the changes needed would probably be very minor.
