Hi,

J. D. Hobby? (http://cm.bell-labs.com/who/hobby/pubs.html)
In particular:
* Rasterizing Curves of Constant Width, JACM 36(2), 1989.
* Digitized Brush Trajectories, Ph.D. thesis, Stanford University, 1985.
(Also Stanford CS-TR-85-1070)
Larry:

But:
* they do appear in practical applications;
* eliptical pens are even more difficult to handle in _discrete_ geometry.
So, what would you advise?
