[math-font-discuss] partial differential operator symbol

I want to place a subscript to the right of the partial differential  
operator symbol (looks like a backward 6).  More specially I want to  
use a Greek letter, e.g. mu, as the subscript.
I do not want to have an argument for the operator itself.
I am unable to do this and would appreciate any suggestions.
