Short answer: not easily (at least not to an arbitrary font).
For details, read fntguide.pdf
(the Font Guide that comes with every LaTeX installation).
On the other hand, there are some font packages
that also set up a math font, e.g. "Fourier Gutenberg"
\usepackage{fourier}
or the "KP Fonts"
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{kpfonts}
The LaTeX Font Catalogue describes a selection of LaTeX math font
packages including how to use them:
