[math-font-discuss] summation font size

Hi

I have a math expression involving a sum placed in an exponent. The
problem is that, when placed in an exponent, the sum is written
with its limits to the side. I would like the limits to stay below
the summation symbol. When I use \displaystyle to do this I get
a summation symbol that is to big. How can I get a summation
with the limits below without changing the summation symbols size?
