However, the documents he compiles are always blurry onscreen. In addition, while they mostly print ok, usually there are at least a few characters that don’t print properly, often ones in titles and such. The crucial bit, though, is that when I take his source code and compile it myself (using TeXShop and TeXLive), these problems go away. I conclude the issue has something to do with how his TeX installation is configured.<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I don’t understand fonts in TeX well enough to know what to suggest he look for. I don’t see anything unusual when I look at his code — no special font choices, for example.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">He tells me he is on Ubuntu Bionic Beaver using TeXStudio, which uses TeXLive as its TeX distribution. I know nothing about TeXstudio, and a perusal of its web site didn’t offer any me clues.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">To give some idea of what I see, this image illustrates the onscreen difference: <<a href="http://physics.oregonstate.edu/~craigda/Images/Temp/FontComparison.png" class="">http://physics.oregonstate.edu/~craigda/Images/Temp/FontComparison.png</a>>.
