[OS X TeX] Unwanted conversion of Unicode characters to \UTF{code}

Howdy,

You probably have During File Save->Automatic ... checked on the Misc2 tab of  TeXShop->Settings. You might also check to see the utf export option under pTeX support (for Japan) is also not checked.
