[OS X TeX] Question

All,

All of a sudden, I’m getting lots of messages from comp.text.tex at google-groups.com. 

I used to sporadically receive a similar message about MacTeX updates only. But I ignored them and I’m not sure that they originated from google-groups.com. Now I get about seven daily about all sorts of topics, despite the fact the address has the .tex entry in it. 

I tried to unsubscribe (each message has an unsubscribe link at the bottom) but the mail system bounced my unsubscribe message. 

Is anyone on the list experiencing this? If so, were you able to stop it? How did you stop it? 

I appreciate all suggestions.
