[OS X TeX] include graphics not working

where line 105 of the input .tex file  "TexFile" reads:

 \includegraphics[width=.2\textwidth]{xxx}

and xxx is a .pdf file.

But this isn’t a TeXshop  error, as if a delimiter is missing somewhere.
This is an error in the TeX code processing itself.

Can you cut down your example source and send it for testing?
You’ll need to include the image  xxx.pdf  as well.

We’ll also need to know what engine you are using:
 XeLaTeX, pdfLaTeX or latex (based on original TeX )
and preferably the version of LaTeX.
So best is to include your .log file, which will have such details.



This problem occurs on three different macs,  macbookpro, macbook air, and iMac.

All using the same set of  engine + LaTeX version ?


I do not have this problem with Overleaf and cannot seem to find a solution online.

Yeah.
But what  engine + LaTeX version  is that actually using?
