[OS X TeX] Query support for Islandic characters

Dear Bridget,

I understand that your paper is in English, but you need to include some Icelandic words. Then you must write

\usepackage[icelandic,USenglish]{babel}

You can even include more languages. The last one is activated by default.

If there is only an Icelandic name to be included in the text, I would do it by

\foreignlanguage{icelandic}{{\dh}r{\’u}   {\TH}horstein}

For longer texts, you may switch to the other language by

\selectlanguage{icelandic}

and go on writing in Icelandic.
