Howdy,
One thing I notice between your log and what I get is that I have
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.14159265-2.6-1.40.17 (TeX Live 2016) (preloaded format=pdflatex 2017.4.3) 11 APR 2017 07:12
entering extended mode
restricted \write18 enabled.
file:line:error style messages enabled.
%&-line parsing enabled.
at the top and you have

at the top of your log file. Notice that I have a line
file:line:error style messages enabled
while you don't have that line.
That information is used by TeXShop to determine what file and line within that file any error exists. I wonder if you have the compiler line for pdflatex set at an old value.
Please go to the Engine tab of TeXShop->Preferences and press the two default buttons in the pdfTeX section. You probably should do the same for the two buttons in the TeX+dvips+distiller section also.
Let me know if that fixes things up.
Good Luck,
Herb Schulz
