[OS X TeX] strange behavior

If you have a copy of the book before tweaking that last figure, I’d go there and start again. Otherwise, I would start typesetting one chapter at a time until I hit the problem. Some times just one missing bracket can cause all sorts of unrelated error messages during compilation.
