[OS X TeX] TeXShop and Skim memory problems

I can confirm this (on 10.11.3) for both Skim and TeXShop, although the two have much different patterns of memory use.

Skim's recorded memory usage (from 'top') shows monotone increasing usage, while TeXShop's shows up/down usage.  In fact, in TeXShop, if you scroll slowly, as if reading, the usage pops, and then drops to the previous level.  Perhaps the developers can comment on the differences.

Preview, as well, shows this problem, although it seems to be able to occasionally purge large chunks of that acquired memory.

I've filed a bug report with Apple.  The bug report is "rdar://24465654", although it isn't viewable outside Apple.  The more reports the merrier; it's one of the metrics Apple uses to determine its significance.

Any other info that shows up here, I will add to the report.
