Howdy,

Did you try the example supplied by Michael Sharpe? I know that it works properly. Please send a minimal but compilable file that shows the behavior and include your log file and your pdf output.

Are you removing the .aux files after an unsuccessful run? Are you running (lua/xe/pdf)latex multiple times?
