[OS X TeX] Can't get a shorttoc with comments

Good morning. My old-new document is progressing nicely, people around 
me are patient and wait. In the meantime, it has become a little too 
long. I need a short table of contents which doesn't list deeper than 
chapters, with some commentary after each chapter title.

I included in the preamble:

\usepackage{shorttoc}

and, right before the table of contents,

\shorttableofcontents{Zusammenfassung}{chapter}
\clearpage

I vaguely remember adding text to the chapter titles (in another 
document) to be included in the shorttoc. But this document no longer 
exist (some upgrade or update must have eaten it).

All this is not working because the shorttoc displays exactly the same 
contents as the longer toc. And I have no idea how to add comments. 
Something like:

\chapter{How to get pizza for free}

appearing in the shorttoc as:

\textbf{How to get pizza for free}
<tab>\emph{Don't believe everthing you are told}

The documentation I found is possibly out of date or doesn't adress this 
particular issue.
