Oh my! As far as I remember, Fink sets things up so that .profile is sourced into .tcshrc or .cshrc so the problem may have been taken care of anyway (Herb, the path stuff in tcsh startup files is different.) Could you please run:

echo $SHELL
echo $shell

(Yes, I mean both!)?

Yes, but the chain of symbolic links should be correctly set up for the tex pref panel to operate. As Herb has explained, we need to know if texbin is in the directory /Library/TeX. So what does

ls -F /Library/TeX

returns? Then, again as Herb pointed out, running the Setup-2015.pkg should help.

To be sure everything is alright, do you have files:

.login
.cshrc and/or .tcshrc

in your home directory? Again, running

cd
ls -a

should show them. In that case it would be helpful to know their content.
