Thank you

The problem is not an ill defined macro or infinite loop. The problem stems from the fact that hyperref is filling up its table with many entries of eqs., bibliography, etc. references. Without it the tex file compiles fine with no errors. I have run hyperref with the same entry with no trouble in other tex files with less references. I am using

\usepackage[%hidelinks,
colorlinks=true,linkcolor=blue,urlcolor=blue,citecolor=blue]{hyperref}

How do I increase the input stack?

Thanks

I am writing a book. I got the message that the input stack size of 5000 is too small & the error is fatal

How and where do I increase the size? Thank you

This is almost always a problem with an ill-defined macro which leads to an infinite loop. It can sometimes be caused by the interaction of packages.

The only way to diagnose it is to comment out things gradually until the error disappears, usually.
