[OS X TeX] sudo ln -s /opt/X11 /usr/X11

I recently updated my aged iMac to Yosemite (and did the sudo mv trick
mentioned on the list), but soon discovered that when compiling, LaTeX
still issued the following warning message:

dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/X11/lib/libXt.6.dylib

I googled the warning message, and was lead to the following website

http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/208001/cant-compile-image-after-upgrading-to-os-x-yosemite

wherein a solution was suggested

sudo ln -s /opt/X11 /usr/X11

I followed the instruction, and indeed the .tex document could be compiled.
Unfortunately, when the computer was rebooted, the entire system became
non-responsive that nothing could be done: I could still move the mouse
cursor (which was a spinning beach ball of death) but nothing was clickable
at all. Luckily, the activity monitor window was open, and I saw that every
5 minutes or so, the user CPU usage surged (and at that instant, the
spinning beach ball returned to its arrow form, if you were prepared with
your mouse at hand, you could click on some thing), and then the system
became totally non-responsive again.

I tried essentially everything I could think of (including replaced with
new ram sticks) but with no luck. Finally, I reinstalled the OS, and
everything went back to before the fiasco.
