Howdy,

One more thing... would you run

ls -alF /usr/local/bin/gs

and let us know if it returns

lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  21 Apr 21 06:21 /usr/local/bin/gs@ -> /usr/local/bin/gs-X11

and if so do you have XQuartz installed (I assume you are running Mavericks)? You can download XQuartz from <http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/> and start it up once so it can initialize itself.

If it returns

lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  21 Apr 21 06:21 /usr/local/bin/gs@ -> /usr/local/bin/gs-noX11

you should be ok without XQuartz. I then have no idea why you have a problem; it works fine here.
