[OS X TeX] Just Curious...

Hard drive space is cheap, so on my home machine, an antique Early 2008 Mac Pro (cheese grater) I’m mostly on Snow Leopard 10.6.8, but on a separate drive, Mavericks 10.9.?, whatever the latest is; and finally on a third external drive, Yosemite. I ran all six public betas. My loaner school computer has Mavericks 10.9.5.

A little off topic, but here’s why you might consider Yosemite if you’ve been putting it off. It has excellent speech to text capabilities. I don’t know if any of the group have issues with typing, but I need to do a hell of a lot of transcribing of audio files for a book project. I’m using Nuance/Dragon for Mac (the most recent version) but the little I’ve used of Yosemite, the Yosemite output is much better. (That said, the Nuance/Dragon version works pretty well, enormously better than the prior version.)

So far I have not had much success with importing audio files in Yosemite. The Nuance/Dragon program does this readily.

Best wishes, all.
