When I did the install, the installer seemed to hang up for a while early in the process where the progress bar was stuck at about 5% while saying that there was 19 minutes left (actually, in the end, more than an hour left). After a while it did start moving again, to my great relief, and it did not hang up again near the end, probably because I did move the texlive folder out of the root directory. I had a major OS upgrade fail once many years ago, and since then upgrading has been an anxiety producing activity.
