You can run luaotfload with -v or more verbosity. This will report problems. There can also be a blacklist (/usr/local/texlive/2012/texmf-dist/tex/luatex/luaotfload/otfl-blacklist.cnf) which tells luaotfload not to handle at all the listed fonts. (You certainly can empty it, except for LastResort and NISC18030.)

BTW, there is also a list for LuaTeX…
